What you will need for this recipe:

  • Hazelnut spread– we used Nutella for this recipe, but any hazelnut spread will work for this recipe.
  • Butter– we used unsalted butter for this recipe.
  • Brown sugar– use any kind of brown sugar.
  • Granulated sugar– granulated sugar works best for this recipe. Caster sugar can work as well.
  • Egg– use 1 egg for this recipe.
  • Vanilla extract– vanilla extract is an essential ingredient for this recipe.
  • Pinch of salt– for flavor.
  • Baking soda– to help the cookies rise.
  • Flour– we used all-purpose flour for this recipe.
  • Chocolate chips– we used semi-sweet chocolate chips for this recipe to balance the sweetness.

 

How to make Nutella stuffed chocolate chips cookies:

1.   Scoop 1-2 tsp of Nutella and place them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 1-2 hours or until solid.

2.   In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix well.

3.   Add the egg, vanilla extract, baking soda, and a pinch of salt, and mix well until well combined.

4.   Sift the flour into the wet mixture and mix well until well combined.

5.   Add the chocolate chips and mix gently until well combined.

6.   Refrigerate the cookie mixture for 30 minutes. Preheat an oven to 190c (375f) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.

7.   Scoop 2-3 tbsp of the mixture with an ice cream scooper and flatten it into a circle.

8.   Place 1 piece of frozen Nutella in the center of the dough.

9.   Roll the dough into a ball.

10.  Place the cookie dough on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet at least 2 inches apart. Bake the cookies in a preheated oven for 10-14 minutes or until the edges becomes lightly golden brown.

11.  Allow the cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet when cooled completely serve next to a cup of coffee/ tea.
