These roasted cabbage steaks are a quick and delicious side dish made by slicing cabbage into slices, topping it with olive oil and spices, and baking it to a perfect golden brown.
Using a sharp knife, cut the stems off the cabbage and cut each pieceinto 1-inch thick rounds.
Place the cabbage pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchmentpaper. Brush each cabbage piece with a generous amount of olive oil.
Sprinkle an even amount of salt, garlic powder, paprika, and chiliflakes on top.
Flip the cabbage pieces over and repeat with the same steps (oliveoil, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and chili flakes)
Bake the cabbage steaks for 20 minutes at 230c (450f), flip them, andbake for another 20 minutes until they have a golden brown color and are tender from the inside.
Notes
Cut the cabbage into even steaks so they will cook evenly!
Do not skip the oil in this recipe! If you are on a diet and are trying to avoid oil at all costs, do not skip it! The little bit of oil that is added to these steaks helps to soften the cabbage and helps the spices to absorb into the cabbage.
Season both sides of the cabbage! This will ensure that your steaks will be super flavorful in every bite.
I recommend using small to medium cabbages for easy cutting and the best serving sizes.
