Hi, I’m Or!
I’m a pastry school-trained baker, food photographer, recipe developer, founder, and the writer of Rich And Delish, and I’m here to help you bake with total confidence. For my full story, click here.

I started Rich And Delish because I believe that everyone deserves to bake incredible, bakery-quality treats at home without the stress.
While I’ve always loved sweets, I wanted to understand the why behind every cake and cookie. That curiosity took me to Estella, a professional pastry academy in Israel.

I spent seven months in intensive training, learning the "rules" of professional baking from some of the best chefs in the world.
In school, I didn't just learn how to follow a recipe—I learned the science of how ingredients work together. I learned:
- The Chemistry of Leavening: Learning the exact difference between baking soda and baking powder, and how they react with acids like buttermilk or cocoa.
- Sugar Stages: Mastering the temperature stages of sugar, from simple syrups to hard-crack caramel.
- Fat Emulsification: Learning how to properly cream butter and sugar to trap air, which is the secret to a light, fluffy cake.
- Gluten Control: Understanding how to manipulate flour (mixing time and speed) to create either a sturdy bread or a delicate, melt-in-your-mouth cake crumb.
And so much more!

Why You Can Trust My Recipes
Have you ever followed a recipe online only to have it fail? I’ve been there, and I know how frustrating it is.
At Rich And Delish, my goal is to make sure that never happens to you. I take the professional techniques I learned in school and turn them into simple, easy-to-follow steps for your home kitchen.
Every recipe on this site is:
- Triple-Tested: I bake every recipe at least three times in my own kitchen to make sure it’s foolproof.
- Expertly Explained: I share the specific "Pastry School Tips" you won't find anywhere else.
- Real & Honest: I don't use "fake" food styling. What you see in my photos is exactly what will come out of your oven.

My Personal Story
I grew up in my mom's kitchen. I was maybe ten years old the first time I made pancakes on my own, and not long after that I was helping her with chocolate cakes and all the classic Israeli baked goods. Baking was never a hobby I picked up. It was just always there.
Everything changed when I turned eighteen. In Israel, that's when you go to the army, and around that same time I had my first anxiety attack.
School had never been easy for me, and the idea of the army, being told exactly what to do with no freedom, sent me into a place I didn't know how to get out of. I started therapy, and I stayed in it for years, working through it slowly, one week at a time.
While I was in therapy, at nineteen, I started asking myself a real question: what can I actually do from home? How can I build something? Baking was the one thing that had always calmed my mind.
It was the first activity I'd found that didn't trigger the anxiety, that let me focus on something with my hands instead of spiraling in my head. And I was obsessed with Tasty videos. I remember thinking, someone needs to bring this to Israel.
So I did the most 19-year-old thing possible. I researched how those videos were made, saved up (I had about $500), borrowed the rest from my parents, and bought my first camera, a Canon with a Macro 100mm lens I definitely couldn't afford.
I taught myself to film. I taught myself to edit. I took courses. I started posting on YouTube and Facebook with absolutely no idea what I was doing.
Then I saw a video from Shelby Church about making money through blogging, and that was the moment the lightbulb went off: I need a website.
A family friend helped me build the first version of richanddelish.com, before AI, before any of the tools that make this easy now. It took months. It was, honestly, really ugly. But it was live.
From there, it was pure trial and error: endless recipe testing, learning how ingredients actually behave and why, watching baking videos on YouTube, and slowly starting to believe I could create recipes that tasted amazing.
Not just recreate what I grew up eating, but build my own. That feeling, realizing I could do this myself, is still one of my favorite feelings in the world.
I took an SEO course. About a year and a half in, I got accepted into Mediavine. This ad management company partners with independent bloggers so that display ads on the site actually pay properly, which had been a real goal of mine.
From there, I kept stacking skills: photography school, learning food styling and lighting, and composition, learning how to market on Pinterest and social media.
None of it was glamorous. There were plenty of twelve-hour days where I didn't see a single friend, just because I believed in this enough to keep going. Slowly, the audience grew: 50K, then 100K on Instagram, which is still my biggest platform today.
That's how Rich and Delish was born. It started as a way to manage my anxiety and eventually build my own financial independence, and it turned into proof, to myself more than anyone, that if you have the will, you can build something amazing.
