Ingredients
Before you start to make this butter board charcuterie recipe, measure and prepare your ingredients so the cooking process will go smoothly and easily.

Butter- use unsalted butter for this recipe. Only butter will work for this recipe, no margarine, and no coconut oil. Margarine has a weird taste we do not recommend using it. We used unsalted butter, but you can use either one.
Jam- we used strawberry jam for this recipe, feel free to use your favorite jam like fig jam, blueberry jam, etc.
Cinnamon- use your favorite brand of ground cinnamon.
Lemon zest- zest a fresh lemon. This can be swapped with orange juice as well.
Nuts- we chopped toasted walnuts and sprinkles them on top for an extra crunch. You can swap the walnuts with your favorite nuts like pecans, hazelnuts, etc.
Pomegranate- this is optional but adds a lot of flavor and texture. You can swap it with chopped apples and your favorite chopped fruit.
Honey- use your favorite brand of honey. You can swap it with maple syrup or your favorite syrup.
Instructions

Top the butter with dollops of jam, we used strawberry jam, but you can use your favorite jam.
Top with chopped walnuts, fresh lemon zest, cinnamon, and drizzle honey on top.
Dip with freshly baked bread or toasted bread. Enjoy!

- Make sure that your butter is at room temperature. An hour or two before making this, take the butter out of the fridge and let it come to room temperature. The butter should be soft to the touch. If your butter is too cold, it will be harder to spread it on the board.
- Serve this with crusty bread. This is perfect for serving with fresh bread or second-day bread that is toasted on a pan with some butter or in a toaster oven.
- Swap the toppings with your favorite toppings like garlic and lemon, spicy board, etc.

If you have leftovers, transfer them into a freezer-friendly container and freeze them for up to 3 months. When ready to use, place it in the fridge overnight, and for one hour at room temperature before serving.
Make it ahead of time
You can make this ahead of time by making it according to the instructions, and wrapping it with plastic wrap to prevent the butter from soaking in the fridge smells. Take it out of the fridge about an hour before serving to let the butter soften.
Substitutions
Dairy-free- make this recipe dairy free by using plant-based butter. You can use your favorite brand of vegan butter for this.
Variations
Mediterranean- a delicious flavor combination is adding olive oil, roasted garlic, zaatar, flakey salt, olives, and chili flakes.
Cheese- use your favorite spreadable cheese like cream cheese or ricotta, and top it with your favorite savory or sweet toppings.
Savory- lemon zest, flakey salt, freshly chopped cilantro, parsley, chili flakes, and olive oil.
Sweet- you can use the same sweet toppings we used for this recipe and swap the butter with ricotta.
