What you will need for this recipe:
Almonds– use any type of almonds that you like the most, you can use raw almonds, salted almonds, etc.
Food processor- if you don’t own a high-speed blender, don’t worry! You can use your food processor, it will probably take a bit longer to blend, but you can get the same result without needing to buy an expensive blender.
High-speed blender- we like to use our Vitamix blender, but you can use your favorite high-speed blender that you own.

How to roast almonds:
For this recipe, you can use roasted almonds or raw almonds, we like to make homemade almond butter with roasted almonds.
The almond roasting process is super quick and easy, all you need to do is to preheat an oven to 190c (375f), spread an even layer of the raw almonds on a baking sheet, and bake the almonds for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through. Then let the almonds cool to room temperature for about 5-10 minutes.
The roasting process releases the natural oil of the almonds and makes the process of blending way faster and easier.
How to make almond butter in a Vitamix:
If you own a Vitamix blender, you’re in luck! Vitamix blender makes making homemade almond butter so much easier! It usually takes up to 1 minute to make homemade almond butter in a Vitamix.
Making homemade almond butter with raw almonds:
If you’re using raw almonds for this recipe, as we prefer as well, you will need to follow two steps:
If you don’t want to roast your almonds, you will need to add a little bit of natural oil, we suggest adding avocado oil or olive oil.
To roast the raw almonds, preheat an oven to 190c (375f), spread an even layer of the raw almonds on a baking sheet, and bake the almonds for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through.

Almond butter contains many healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals including vitamin E, magnesium, monounsaturated fats that help to lower LDL cholesterol and raise HDL cholesterol. Almond butter also contains calcium, which helps with bone health, good appetite control, and good for your skin.
How to make homemade almond butter:
1. Preheat an oven to 180c (350f) and prep a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Spread the almonds evenly over the baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes stirring halfway through.
3. Let the almonds cool to room temperature for at least 10 minutes.
4. Transfer the almonds to a blender or a food processor, secure the lid and start blending at high speed.
5. If you’re using a blender, Insert the tamper through the lid and push down the almonds until you get a smooth consistency.
6. If you’re using a food processor, secure the lid then let it process for 5 minutes.
7. Scrape down the sides and continue to process until you get the right consistency, be patient!
8. If you want a creamier almond butter, the process for longer until you get the right texture.
9. When the almond butter is ready, let it cool for 10-15 minutes and transfer it into a jar, place it in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.

It can take a long time for your almond butter to come together, the only solution is to be patient. You will have to take breaks between each blend so you won’t burn your food processor. The key for this recipe is to be patient, you will see results and you will get creamy almond butter.
