Since I first ordered Starbucks sweet cream cold foam, I couldn't get enough. It's the perfect addition to your morning coffee, and it will make you feel like a barista!
We made a homemade cold brew and simple syrup to go with this recipe. You can use store-bought simple syrup or cold brew, but we like to give that option.
Our favorite way to drink this cold foam is with a homemade cold brew coffee, lots of ice, and the cream cold foam on top. It really tastes like you're in a coffee shop!

Ingredients

Heavy cream- It is important that you use heavy cream for this recipe and not low fat cream because that fat in the heavy cream will help froth this cold foam and make this super creamy and delish.
Milk- you will need low-fat 2% milk for this. Low-fat milk froths well and will make the cold foam lighter and will balance out the heavy cream.
Simple syrup- we make simple syrup homemade. You can also use store-bought. Making simple syrup is super easy. You will need water and sugar and a 1:1 ratio of the water and sugar. Read on to learn how to make it.
What is cold foam?
Sweet vanilla cold foam is a blended chilled foamy mixture of heavy cream, low-fat milk, and vanilla-flavored simple syrup. If you like

There are so many ways to froth this sweet cream cold foam. Here are our favorite tools to make this:
- In a blender- This is one of our favorite and the easiest ways to make this coffee topping. This blender is our favorite and we use it to make so many drinks, smoothies, and foods! All you will need to do is add all your ingredients into the blender and mix until the mixture is foamy and creamy!
- Handheld foam maker- This option is super cheap and fun! You will need to add all the ingredients to a glass cup and froth away!
- Milk frother- This is also a cheap option and a quick option. All you will need to do is add all your ingredients to the milk frother and create air foam by moving the handle up and down for 30 seconds until a foamy mixture forms.
Instructions
Step 1: Combine the heavy cream, milk, and simple syrup in your mixer of choice (or in a cup) and froth the mixture until it's fluffy and creamy.
Step 2: Add ice to a cup and add the cold brew coffee or coffee of your choice.
Step 3: Top the coffee with the cold foam and enjoy!
How to make cold brew coffee
To make homemade cold brew coffee, start by adding ground coffee and water to a large jar, cover, and let it sit for 12-18 hours at room temperature or in the fridge.
Drain the coffee using a fine mesh stive and a cheesecloth (or a towel) and transfer the coffee to a large clean jar.
How to make homemade simple syrup
To make homemade simple syrup, add sugar and water into a saucepan and mix over medium-high heat until the sugar dissolves.
Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes, remove from heat, and store in a jar.

Yes! this cold foam works well with every drink that uses a creamy topping, like lattes, iced coffee, iced tea, etc. Take into consideration that if you add cold foam over a hot drink, it will cool it down a bit.
This cold foam tastes like a perfectly frothy and creamy coffee topping with a sweet vanilla flavor.
Adding cold foam to hot coffee is possible, but it isn't optimal. The cold foam will make your coffee colder, we recommend heating your milk or foam for hot coffee.
You will need about ¼ cup of cold foam for each cup of coffee. This recipe makes ½ cup of cold foam. You can double the recipe and make more if you want.
