    Why this recipe works

    • This is a great way to use stale bread and stop wasting bread altogether!
    • It is an easy appetizer that comes together in 10 minutes from start to finish!
    • This recipe is made with super simple ingredients that you may have laying in your kitchen.
    • You can customize this garlic bread to your personal liking by adding more garlic, cheese, or spices!

    Ingredients

Before you start to make this garlic bread in air fryer recipe, measure and prepare your ingredients so the cooking process will go smoothly and easily.

Full measurements are in the recipe card below.

Baguette- your baguette can be one, two, or three days old! Since we toast slices of the baguette, there is no need to use fresh baguettes from the bakery.

Garlic- we suggest adding the garlic to taste. We used fresh garlic for this recipe for the best flavor.

Parmesan cheese- the parmesan cheese makes this extra flavorful. I recommend grating your cheese yourself instead of buying pre-grated cheese for the best flavor.

Kosher salt– we used kosher salt in this recipe. You can use sea salt or flakey salt as well.

Black pepper- for flavor. Adjust the black pepper to your personal liking.

Spices- we used chili flakes and dried oregano for this garlic bread. You can also use dried parsley, dried basil, and dried thyme if you'd like!

Fresh parsley- fresh herbs are what makes or breaks a recipe in my opinion, so do not skip the fresh parsley in this recipe. Wash the parsley and chop it with a sharp knife.

    Instructions

Cut french bread or a baguette diagonally into ½-inch thick slices. Lay the slices on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and set aside while you make the garlic herb butter.

Into a small mixing bowl, add the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, chili flakes, grated parmesan kosher salt, and black pepper and mix until well combined.

Place the garlic bread in the basket of the air fryer in an even layer (make a few batches if your air fryer is smaller), and cook for 3-5 minutes in a 200c (400f) air fryer. If you like your bread crispier, cook it for another 2-3 minutes.

    Expert Tips

    • Feel free to adjust the cooking time to make the bread as crispy as you like your garlic bread. For softer garlic bread, bake for 3-4 minutes, for crispy garlic bread, bake for 5-8 minutes.
    • I highly suggest not overcrowding the air fryer basket, cook it in batches to make them cook properly.
    • Make sure that your butter is at room temperature. An hour or two before making this, take the butter out of the fridge and let it come to room temperature. The butter should be soft to the touch. If your butter is too cold, it will be harder to mix and there will be lumps of butter in the mixture.
    • If you like cheesy garlic bread, feel free to add shredded mozzarella, cheddar cheese, or add extra parmesan!

    Faq's

What bread to use for garlic bread?

Garlic bread usually uses french or Italian bread, and often uses high water content bread like sourdough! But you can use your favorite type of bread or what you have on hand.

How do you make garlic bread better?

The best way to can make garlic bread better is by adding a lot of cheese on top and broiling the top. I like adding mozzarella, cheddar cheese, and parmesan.

Can you heat up garlic bread in the air fryer?

Yes! Heat the garlic bread in the air fryer at 180c (350f) for 2-4 minutes.

Can I make this in the oven?

Yes! Make the recipe as written in the instructions and bake in a 180c (350f) preheated oven for 5-7 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and crispy.

    Storing

If you have leftovers, you can store them in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat them in the microwave or in the toaster oven (or regular oven) until they are warm and crispy again.

    Freezing

Let the garlic bread cool to room temperature, then place them in the freezer and stored them in an airtight freezer-friendly container for up to 2 months.

When ready to use, place the bread in the fridge overnight to defrost, or thaw it at room temperature for a few hours.

    Reheating

To reheat these, I recommend preheating an oven or toaster oven to 180c (350f) and heating it for about 5-10 minutes or until the bread is crispy again.

    Serving tips

I recommend serving this immediately! This bread is crispy and has the best texture when it is fresh. You can serve this as a side dish or an appetizer next to soups, pasta, stews, meatballs, lasagna,
